Entertaiment is an activity understood objectively, which communicates with an audience from an external stimulus, offers pleasure and requires the presence of an audience in a passive form. Oliver and Barstsch (2010) define entertainment as “anything that can be consumed to provide enjoyment”.
Examples of Entertaiment
What qualifies as entertaining varies from person to person. A child might find a playground or a cartoon amusing, while an adult might prefer a comedy show or a thoughtful documentary. Other criteria might focus on the quality of craftsmanship or a certain je ne sais quoi, and still others might consider a team sport or multiplayer video game to be more fun than a one-person book reading.
